AFRICA ONLINE

Who are we?

FutureFest-ALU is organized by faculty and students of the Social Science programme at the African Leadership University (ALU). This unique higher education institution was established by Fred Swaniker to train 3 million ethical and entrepreneurial leaders for Africa. Still in its first decade of operations with campuses in Mauritius and Rwanda, ALU has already earned glowing international recognition. Fast Company named ALU the most innovative company in Africa, while other observers have referred to ALU as the 'Harvard of Africa'. To learn more about the vision and mission ALU has set out to fulfil, watch and listen to Fred Swaniker share his vision for higher education in Africa.

What is FutureFest-ALU 2021?

FutureFest-ALU brings together inspirational, innovative, entrepreneurial, and futurists thinkers in and out of Africa, to share ideas about the future we want, and plant seeds towards creating that future. The first edition themed ‘Embracing tomorrow today’ took place in October 2019, and was the first Social Innovation Hub organized in the beautiful island of Mauritius.

The 2021 event is the second edition themed ‘AFRICA ONLINE’ and will take place from 25 - 27 August. The 3-day event will discuss Africa's opportunities in the on-going digital revolution and showcase examples of youth digital flourishing on the continent.

Digital Flourishing - our Guiding Principle
